Police are searching a gang of males who’ve been trapping and torturing foxes in east London.
Detectives had been alerted to a screaming sound, which they initially believed to be from a human, in Newham in the early hours of Monday.
On the scene, officers witnessed the gang harming an animal, which managed to flee.
Wildlife crime officer Det Con James Mahoney mentioned it occurred in woodland close to Kestrel Avenue and Linton Gardens.

The 4 males are described by police as black and aged about 18 to twenty years previous.
Warning that the gang could also be committing offences wider afield, Det Con Mahoney urged the general public to be vigilant.
