LONDON (AP) — Two senior clergymen in Jerusalem have consecrated the holy oil that will likely be used to anoint King Charles III throughout his coronation, because the Anglican Church seeks to underscore the monarchy’s lengthy historical past and the royal household’s hyperlinks to the Center East.
The oil was consecrated Friday morning on the Church of the Holy Sepulcher, the normal website of Christ’s crucifixion and burial, Buckingham Palace stated in an announcement.
